Limited liability Scientific and Production Company QUARTZ produces articles of quartz ceramics (kersil) which are widely used in various industries due to high thermal resistance, chemical stability, low thermal expansion, good dielectric properties in combination with sufficiently high mechanic strength.
Quartz ceramics (kersil) are characterized by:
Bending strength 15-45MPa, apparent density 1,9-2,0 g/cm, open porosity 5-15%, thermal linear expansion coefficient 5,8*10-7, thermal resistance to temperature drop 20-1650oC , glass attack resistance in low-alkali fluxes. The material has a high diffuse reflectance in the wide spectral region and resistant to UV radiation. Heat conductivity coefficient is 0.6-0.9 kcal/m*h*d, dielectric permeability at frequency 10*10 Hz 3,2-3,6 in temperature range 20-1650oC. Without temperature drops, the material withstands heating and operation at temperatures up to 1750oC.
